Weekly Mind Dump: 1 More Saved! (by Mark Tolson)

✪ The young man who I asked prayer for about salvation just let me know last week that he is now saved! We started working with him at the beginning of December and he has been faithful to study the bible with us every week since. He is a postgrad student so I would go to his dorm every week to study the bible with him. After learning all the basics and what the gospel is, he decided to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord for saving another sinner! Amen!

✪ Our last Australian intern left. We loved having him here and we are excited to see what the future has for him as he endeavors to go into full-time missions.

✪ This school semester just ended and all the students have returned to their hometowns for the Chinese holiday. Even though every one is gone now, we were able to spend everyday last week studying the bible with people that were interested. We can’t wait until they come back in a few weeks.

✪ Light in the Darkness Review: Also known as the India Film Project, this documentary reveals the sincerity and devotion of idolatry and thus compels those of us who know the truth to plea with such people to turn from whatever or whoever they worship and turn to Jesus. The interviews and testimonies in the film not only shed light on the need in India but shows how the gospel is already changing lives in a land filled with religion and idolatry. This short film, with its storyline and videography should kindle the missionary flame inside all believers.

✪ Recently Read: What Did Jesus Really Mean When He Said Follow Me? – This short book or booklet (only three chapters) is a quick and easy read. In short, it is a gospel tract for those who grew up in the American Christians culture. I appreciate the book in that it helps show “the call to follow Jesus is not simply an invitation to pray a prayer; it is a summons to lose our lives.” Jesus didn’t hide all the “hard sayings” when he called men to follow him and we shouldn’t either. As the author walks us through the great invitation, cost, and change we see what it means to repent and believe in Jesus as well as the fruit of what that means. (Also, this is currently free on Kindle.) [1]

✪ M.K. Quote: My oldest daughter tried to jump into a conversation we were having about American food and she proudly said: “I can’t wait until we can go back to America so I can eat those yummy tacos at Chick-fil-a!

✪ We finished the first book in our discipleship series. It is ten lessons that help take a person that knows nothing about Christianity to learn what it is all about and hopefully leads them to become a Christian. The man who I mentioned above that got saved is the first person to go through all the lessons. We now have them printed in books and are encouraging the believers here to use them in teaching others about the gospel.

✪ There are so many opportunities here for ministry. It isn’t an easy road to travel, but it is worth it. Will you give your life to teach those who have never heard. There are so many here like the one who was just saved. He never heard, but once he did he believed. Will you go?
