Preparing the next leader (by Beau Carpenter)

Deuteronomy 3:27–28 – Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan. 28 But charge Joshua, andencourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

Moses was not going to be able to enter the promised land, he had been used mightily to bring the people to the doorstep, but he was not allowed to go in. He could do one thing though, he helped the next leader and prepared him to take the work even further than he had taken it.

The three ways that Moses was to prepare Joshua were to:

Charge him
Encourage him
Strengthen him

Who am I preparing to go on and continue the work?
