Blog, Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and praying friends,

Since our last writing, God has been doing wonderful and encouraging things for us on deputation. It seems the more we share of the need Indonesia has for the Gospel, the more the burden grows in our hearts. Others partnering with us have only served to multiply the eagerness we have to arrive on the field.

I recently came across a post titled “Save Maryam”. The post was from the muslim community as a warning to Muslim families. It told the story of a young Muslim girl. Feeling neglected from her Muslim family and not having been throughly educated in the Islamic faith, she would turn to Christ. She would be accepted into a church and family of believers that welcomed her. The post claimed this was the story of 2 million Indonesian Muslims per year. It was a plea for families to invest in their children for the sake of Islam. A plea to indoctrinate them and keep them from turning to what we know is the truth.

Often when we think of Muslims it’s not with compassion but bitterness. Reading of Maryam reminds us that our God wants to work in their hearts. He has a love for them and is drawing Indonesian muslims out of the darkness and to Him. There is a great opportunity awaiting us in Indonesia with challenges on every side, but our Lord is not unable or unwilling. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Over the past month, we have seen more churches partner with us than any other month. We are humbled and grateful. We presented in churches in Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. We are thankful for the Lord’s protection as we travel and grateful for your prayers as well.

To Indonesia with Truth,

Jesse and Faith Turpin
