Dear Pastors and praying friends,

Since our last writing, God has given us so much to be thankful for. He has always been faithful to meet our needs through deputation, but beyond that He shows His favor toward us. Several churches have given to specific needs, such as our survey trip and helping with our setup fund once we arrive in Indonesia. However, the news we are most excited to share is that we have grown to be a missionary family of three! We are humbled and grateful that we are going to be parents with our first child set to arrive the first week of November.

Later this month, we say goodbye to two close friends as they take their families to the mission field. One family for the first time and the other for their second term. It isn’t with  heavy hearts that we see them go, but with excitement about what God can do with servants yielded to His work. Serving Christ isn’t a sacrifice, but rather the greatest bargain we could imagine. We often think we are saving our life when we hold on to it, but Christ said, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” As friends of missionaries, as new parents, and as Christians we know the greatest investment we can make is not to seek after the things that our Father knows we have need of, but rather to seek first the kingdom of God. It’s because of these truths and churches holding the rope for us that we can be confident about heading to the field. We are gaining momentum, and the excitement is building for us. In less than two months, we will be in Indonesia for our survey trip!

This coming month, we look forward to presenting in churches in Ohio, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts toward us as we travel. We covet those. If you would, pray for Faith during the pregnancy, as we travel presenting and also for the survey trip. Pray for wisdom as we attempt to prepare well for Indonesia. There is much to be done in the quickly passing time we have left. God bless you all.

To Indonesia with Truth,

Jesse and Faith Turpin
