January 2014 Prayer Letter (by Ben Johnson)

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

As the year draws to a close we cannot help but be thankful for all God has done this year and at the same time, be hopeful for all that God will do in the coming year. It is a bittersweet end to 2013. We have seen God bless in amazing ways. He has been so good to us this year.

Traveling and Support

This month has been one spent close to home. We had several re-schedules this month so we spent all of it in Georgia. This has probably been our lowest amount of miles driven in a month since we started deputation, yet still, God continues to provide as He has sent in more support from new partnering churches! Each day it seems we are one step closer to China.

Crystal’s Surgery

You would not know it but my wife has been suffering with various chronic problems for a couple of years. We never could pinpoint the problem until she went to the doctor and found out she needed her gallbladder removed! It was only about a week later and it was removed. Everything went well and she has recovered. We thank God for such a smooth process in this.

Christmas in China

If you visit a mall in China during December, you can often see Christmas decorations and even hear Christmas music. This is because of the West’s increasing influence on China. However, the average Chinese person has no idea why we celebrate Christmas. God thought Christ’s birth was so momentous that He sent angels to announce it. Maybe God would have you take the true message of Christmas and the Savior to China.

Yours for China,

The Johnson Family
