April ’14 Prayer Letter (by Chris Waye)

Pastors & Praying Friends,

The last 8 weeks have seemed to just fly by.  We have finished getting our home set up, purchased a vehicle, begun driving lessons and are getting involved in the community as much as we can.  We have been able to visit several churches in and around London, many that are without a pastor at the moment (one has been pastor-less for nearly 15 years).

It has been interesting to get adjusted to life here.  You might think it is much like America, being we share a common language and it is from this place that our nation was born, but there are many cultural differences here that we are trying to learn and adapt to.  Sherry and the kids are doing great and are enjoying life here very much.

We are starting to build relationships with people in and around our community, the nearest to us being a village called Chislehurst.  Most people we have talked to are very nice, and even when we share with them the Gospel they are not rude, but there is a general lack of interest in anything spiritual.  I believe part of the reason for this is the increasing number of false teachers here in this city.  There is so much “church” here, but very little Gospel, that there just seems to be a confusion of what truth really is, and therefore people just seem burned out by religion.  We are praying that God would allow us to plant as much Bible truth as possible.

Please continue to pray for us as we work in this city.  Pray for doors to open as we seek to make disciples, plant churches, and help train men that can carry on the work.

God bless!
